DLA Piper has added Justin Simeone as a partner in its White Collar, Investigations and Government Enforcement practice in Washington, D.C., continuing the firm’s expansion of its cross-border investigations platform.
Simeone advises multinational companies and executives on internal investigations, government enforcement proceedings and high-stakes litigation involving regulatory scrutiny across multiple jurisdictions.
His experience includes managing internal investigations across more than two dozen countries.
Simeone has also advised clients responding to inquiries from major U.S. and international enforcement organizations, including the Department of Justice, Securities and Exchange Commission, Department of the Treasury and World Bank.
Alongside his investigations practice, Simeone brings courtroom and trial experience.
He has conducted witness depositions, argued motions in federal court and worked on trial teams handling prominent government-facing criminal and civil litigation matters.
That combination of cross-border investigations and litigation experience expands DLA Piper’s capabilities for companies facing regulatory or enforcement issues that cross national boundaries.
Simeone is the fifth partner to join DLA Piper’s Washington investigations team during the past 18 months.
His arrival forms part of a much larger global platform that includes approximately 350 compliance and investigations lawyers and public affairs and communications professionals.
The organization also includes more than 40 former U.S. Attorneys, Assistant U.S. Attorneys and state Attorneys General.
The buildout comes as multinational businesses encounter increasingly complex enforcement environments involving different regulators, governments and legal regimes.
DLA Piper is positioning the larger Washington bench to handle sensitive matters where government inquiries, litigation exposure and reputational considerations can overlap.
