DLA Piper: Brendan Oviedo Joins Energy And Infrastructure Practice In Peru

DLA Piper announced that Brendan Oviedo has joined the firm as a partner in its Energy and Infrastructure practices, based in the firm’s Lima office. The appointment is part of the firm’s continued effort to strengthen its capabilities in the energy and infrastructure sectors across Latin America.

Oviedo brings more than two decades of experience advising on energy, infrastructure, climate change, and project development matters. His work has earned recognition from leading international legal directories, particularly for his counsel on renewable energy, power generation, oil and gas, and large-scale infrastructure projects.

His practice focuses on structuring, developing, and financing energy and infrastructure projects. Oviedo regularly advises clients on complex project finance structures, evolving regulatory frameworks, and the legal issues associated with energy transition and sustainable development.

DLA Piper said his arrival enhances the firm’s ability to support clients navigating cross-border projects and regulatory environments across the Americas. The firm’s Latin America team provides business legal counsel to domestic and multinational companies operating throughout the region, leveraging local expertise alongside the resources of its global platform.

The firm noted that Peru remains an important hub for energy and infrastructure investment in Latin America.
