DLA Piper announced the strengthening of its Corporate and Insurance capability with the appointment of Cristina Gabardi as a partner in its Milan office.
Coming from an International law firm, where she has been since 2020, Gabardi is a highly experienced corporate and commercial law lawyer. And she supports an impressive roster of domestic and international clients across a range of private equity matters, insurance M&A, particularly in Warranties and Indemnities (the policies guaranteeing indemnity obligations in extraordinary transactions and Contingent Risk). Gabardi’s leading profile in these markets is widely recognized in Italy and beyond.
Beatrice Rebecca Gavino and Carolina Giulia Scolari – both lawyers who have worked closely with Gabardi – will also join DLA Piper’s Corporate practice in Milan.
DLA Piper’s Corporate practice in Italy – led by Giulio Maroncelli – has grown, now with 12 partners and over 50 lawyers. And the firm’s Insurance Sector in Italy, led by Bruno Giuffrè, is known for its multidisciplinary approach, testament to the contribution of the wider International team.
The hiring of Gabardi’s strengthens the development of DLA Piper’s International Insurance sector offering, and follows the appointment of Carl Hotton who joined our UK Corporate insurance practice in March 2024, and Virginie Frémat and her team in Belgium in September 2024.
