DLA Piper announced that Robert Fettman has joined the firm as a partner in its Structured Finance practice, expanding its capabilities in complex financial transactions and insurance regulatory matters.
Fettman’s practice focuses on the intersection of insurance and financial services, advising clients on a wide range of U.S. insurance regulatory issues, including investment treatment, product development, corporate governance, compliance, and licensing. He also provides guidance on navigating evolving National Association of Insurance Commissioners standards and state-level regulatory frameworks.
In addition to his regulatory expertise, Fettman advises on transactional matters involving insurers, private equity sponsors, and institutional investors. His experience includes supporting acquisitions, minority investments, and capital solutions across life and property and casualty insurance sectors.
He also brings experience in insurance-linked securities and emerging areas such as Insurtech, advising both established insurers and venture-backed companies on regulatory considerations tied to new technologies and business models.
The appointment reflects DLA Piper’s continued investment in strengthening its finance and regulatory practices, particularly as transactions increasingly require integrated legal strategies across capital markets and compliance frameworks.
The firm’s Structured Finance practice supports clients across a broad range of capital markets activities, including securitizations, project financings, and cross-border transactions.
