DLA Piper has added Palo Alto-based partner Josh Seidenfeld and named him Chair of the firm’s Northern California Corporate and Securities practice, expanding its Silicon Valley bench advising life sciences and technology companies across the full corporate life cycle, from seed-stage formation through venture financings, mergers and acquisitions, and capital markets transactions.
Seidenfeld advises high-growth clients across biotechnology, AI, therapeutics, pharmaceuticals, climate tech, digital health, medical technology, cybersecurity, and software. The firm said he has led hundreds of financings and provides counsel on corporate, securities, and transactional matters as companies navigate complex business decisions and scale.
DLA Piper highlighted Seidenfeld’s industry recognition, noting he was named 2025 Venture Capital Attorney of the Year by LMG Life Sciences. The firm positioned the hire as a further buildout of its Northern California Corporate and Securities capabilities and part of broader growth across Corporate, M&A, and Finance, following recent additions including partners Viktor Sapezhnikov, Stephanie Yarbrough, Jeff Klein, Tom Levato, and Justin Michael, among others.
The firm also pointed to its global platform and deal activity, citing more than 1,000 corporate lawyers worldwide and its Emerging Growth and Venture Capital practice of more than 200 lawyers serving emerging companies and venture capital firms across high-growth sectors.
Over the last three years, DLA Piper said it completed more than 2,100 financings globally totaling more than US$80 billion.
