DLA Piper announced it has welcomed Matt Posthuma as a partner in the Investment Funds Practice. He will be based in the Chicago office. Posthuma’s practice focuses on forming private investment funds and representing clients in domestic and international transactions.
He also supports sponsors with open- and closed-end funds in a wide range of investment strategies, including real estate (including core, value-add, and opportunistic), private equity, infrastructure, credit, hedge, and other alternative asset classes.
Posthuma partners with global asset managers, focusing on Latin American investments, particularly in Brazil and Mexico. He also works with clients on separate accounts, co-investments, joint ventures, club deals, and other investment transactions.
The firm’s investment funds team provides a dynamic and integrated service to sponsors, fund managers and institutional investors, supported by the firm’s international tax and regulatory networks. And the team advises clients on the full spectrum of private investment funds, all major investment strategies and all stages of a private investment fund’s life cycle.
