DLA Piper has appointed Craig Silverwood as Head of Transfer Pricing for the Asia Pacific region, strengthening the firm’s tax capabilities across Australia and the broader region.
Silverwood joined DLA Piper’s Melbourne tax practice on September 1, 2026, from MinterEllison, where he served as National Transfer Pricing Leader.
His experience spans the full transfer pricing value chain and covers sectors including technology and data centers, automotive, energy and resources, consumer products, financial services, pharmaceuticals and real estate.
Silverwood has also led major transfer pricing disputes across Asia Pacific and previously worked as an economist at the Australian Tax Office, giving him experience with regulatory audit approaches and tax policy.
DLA Piper’s global transfer pricing operation includes more than 50 economists and lawyers across the U.S., UK, Europe and Asia.
Silverwood will be joined by Senior Associate Cynthia Vasanthanathan, and the firm plans to continue expanding a dedicated Asia Pacific transfer pricing team with additional hires.
His appointment follows DLA Piper’s recent additions of Angela Wood and Andy Bubb to its Tax Controversy team in Melbourne and Brendon Lamers to its Corporate Tax practice in Brisbane.
The firm expects Silverwood’s practice to support growth across transfer pricing planning, advance pricing agreements, mutual agreement procedure cases, treaty arbitration, dispute management and litigation.
