DLA Piper has appointed Maura Dineen as Country Managing Partner for Ireland, effective September 1, 2026. Dineen joined DLA Piper in 2019 and advises Irish and international clients on tax matters involving domestic and cross-border transactions, inward investment, corporate restructurings, mergers and acquisitions, intellectual property exploitation and tax-efficient financing structures.
She has also played a significant role in expanding DLA Piper’s Irish practice and serves on the Council of the Irish Tax Institute.
Dineen succeeds David Carthy, who led DLA Piper Ireland from the firm’s entry into the market in 2019.
Carthy will remain a partner in the Corporate practice, advising Irish, U.S. and multinational companies across life sciences, technology and financial services on cross-border M&A, corporate reorganizations and foreign direct investment.
Since launching in Ireland in 2019, DLA Piper has grown to approximately 130 people in Dublin.
The Ireland operation draws on DLA Piper’s broader global platform, which spans more than 40 countries and 90 offices worldwide.
As Country Managing Partner, Dineen plans to focus on supporting clients navigating international and Irish market developments, attracting and developing talent and strengthening the firm’s cross-border capabilities.
