DLA Piper announced that Hildy Sastre has joined the firm as a partner, bringing decades of experience in high-stakes product liability and complex litigation. The move, confirmed in the firm’s official announcement, underscores DLA Piper’s continued investment in expanding its national trial capabilities.
Sastre has served as first-chair trial counsel for multinational corporations and has led trial teams in some of the most significant mass tort and multidistrict litigations across the United States. Her work includes defending Fortune 100 companies in cases involving pharmaceutical, medical device, and consumer products, as well as handling high-profile individual and consolidated trials.
She is frequently selected to try bellwether cases and matters of first impression, helping shape the direction of large-scale national litigation. Prior to joining DLA Piper, Sastre was with Shook, Hardy & Bacon.
Recognized as a Band 1-ranked lawyer by Chambers USA, Sastre is known for her ability to translate complex scientific and technical evidence into compelling, jury-ready narratives. She is also a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers, an honor reserved for top courtroom advocates in North America.
Her addition is expected to further strengthen DLA Piper’s global litigation practice and enhance the firm’s ability to deploy elite trial teams across jurisdictions and industries.
