DoiT has acquired SELECT, a data optimization company focused on helping enterprises gain visibility and control over data platform spending, beginning with Snowflake. DoiT said the deal advances its previously announced $250 million AI investment strategy and follows other recent acquisitions, including LiveDiagrams, PerfectScale, and CloudWize. Financial terms were not disclosed.
DoiT positioned the acquisition around a growing FinOps gap: while many organizations have mature cost controls for cloud infrastructure, data platforms such as Snowflake are often “black boxes” with fluctuating warehouse usage, inefficient queries, opaque billing, and limited automation. SELECT’s technology is designed to automatically identify and address these inefficiencies through real-time, policy-driven optimization.
For SELECT customers, DoiT said contracts, pricing, support channels, and product functionality will remain unchanged, with the SELECT team continuing to build and operate the platform. Over time, customers are expected to gain access to broader DoiT integrations and capabilities.
For DoiT customers, SELECT will be integrated into the DoiT Cloud Intelligence platform as “PerfectScale for Snowflake,” extending FinOps automation into the data layer. DoiT said the combined platform will unify Snowflake optimization with budgeting, cost allocation, anomaly detection, automated workflows, and AI-assisted recommendations that analyze cloud and data telemetry together to execute optimization actions without degrading performance or data quality.
DoiT said SELECT’s team will join the company and lead the ongoing development of PerfectScale for Snowflake, with plans to expand optimization support to additional data platforms over time, including Databricks.
KEY QUOTES:
“Data platforms have become a financial black box for many organizations. With SELECT, we are applying the same automation-first approach that transformed infrastructure FinOps to data platforms. PerfectScale for Snowflake gives customers consistent visibility, governance and optimization across their entire cloud estate, not just compute.”
Vadim Solovey, CEO, DoiT
“From day one, our mission was to eliminate data platform waste without creating more work for engineering teams. Joining DoiT allows us to scale that mission globally while accelerating our roadmap to support additional data platforms, including environments like Databricks. Together, we are giving customers a single control plane to manage cost and performance across infrastructure and data.”
Ian Whitestone, CEO, SELECT
