Domino Data Lab And EPAM Partner To Accelerate AI Adoption In Life Sciences

Domino Data Lab and EPAM Systems have formed a strategic partnership focused on helping pharmaceutical and life sciences companies move artificial intelligence projects from experimental environments into validated production. The collaboration combines Domino’s enterprise AI platform with EPAM’s engineering and life sciences expertise to help customers deploy GxP-validated AI models and governed analytics across research and development.

Life sciences companies are investing heavily in AI, but scaling projects across an enterprise can be difficult because of fragmented legacy systems, GxP revalidation requirements, and governance challenges. Domino provides the platform layer intended to bridge those gaps, while EPAM provides specialized engineering capabilities to integrate the technology into existing enterprise IT environments.

The companies will deploy dedicated engineering teams directly alongside customers to accelerate implementation timelines, modernize legacy code, and maintain compliance across heterogeneous technology environments. EPAM’s forward-deployed engineers will work alongside Domino’s engineering teams as part of the deployment model.

The partnership is designed to address AI use cases throughout the biopharma lifecycle, including drug discovery, target identification, statistical computing, and real-world evidence analysis.

For discovery and target identification, organizations can run AI agents, large language models, and machine learning pipelines against large-scale genomic datasets to improve candidate selection.

The companies also plan to help modernize statistical computing by providing biostatisticians and statistical programmers with a governed environment that brings together SAS, R, and Python, from analysis through tables, figures, and listings generation. The goal is to help shorten regulatory submission timelines while maintaining required governance controls.

For real-world evidence initiatives, Domino and EPAM aim to help organizations standardize large and heterogeneous datasets through a secure analytics layer, potentially accelerating observational research across pharmaceutical organizations.

Domino Data Lab’s platform is designed to help enterprises build, scale, and govern AI applications, particularly in highly regulated industries. The company was founded in 2013 and is backed by investors including Sequoia Capital, Coatue Management, NVIDIA, NetApp, Snowflake, and UBS.

KEY QUOTES:

“Our strategic partnership with Domino marks a significant step toward AI-native transformation throughout the pharmaceutical industry, backed by EPAM’s forward-deployed engineering capabilities and industry experience across the life sciences value chain. With Domino, we aim to generate meaningful value worldwide using our AI/RUN Transformation frameworks in a complex, dynamic business and technology environment.”

Nir Kaldero, Chief Data and AI Strategist at EPAM

“Pharma’s AI opportunity doesn’t live in one function, and every team it touches has its own systems, timelines, and compliance requirements. EPAM and Domino are built for that complexity, helping organizations move AI into validated production no matter which team is building it.”

Greg Killian, Senior Vice President and Global Head of Life Sciences and Healthcare at EPAM

“Life sciences leaders don’t want AI that only works for one pilot. Pairing EPAM’s implementation experience with Domino’s platform lets leaders scale AI solutions enterprise-wide, not just within a single function.”

Ricky Mann, Chief Solutions Officer at Domino Data Lab
