DoorDash: Tim Castree Joins As Chief Marketing Officer

DoorDash announced that Tim Castree has joined the company as chief marketing officer, effective May 18, 2026. The appointment comes as DoorDash continues expanding its platform beyond restaurants and food delivery into broader local commerce offerings.

Castree joins DoorDash from Amazon, where he most recently led EU Prime and Marketing, overseeing brand, growth, and performance marketing across more than 15 markets. Prior to Amazon, he held leadership roles at GroupM and Wavemaker, helping major global consumer brands develop large-scale marketing organizations and campaigns.

According to DoorDash, Castree brings expertise in balancing global brand consistency with local market relevance. The company said his experience guiding brands beyond single-category customer relationships aligns with DoorDash’s strategy to broaden how consumers engage with the platform in everyday life.

DoorDash also highlighted Castree’s background in both brand and performance marketing, noting his experience connecting storytelling and creative strategy with measurable business outcomes across large international organizations.

Castree succeeds Kofi Amoo-Gottfried, who is departing after seven years leading DoorDash’s marketing organization. DoorDash said Amoo-Gottfried helped build the company’s marketing operations into an industry-recognized organization and will remain through May to support the leadership transition.
