dormakaba announced the acquisition of Airsphere GmbH, an international software company specializing in passenger management systems for airports. Through the deal, dormakaba is expanding its airport business and strengthening its portfolio with software solutions focused on passenger process automation, airport logistics, and critical infrastructure security.
Founded in 2010 and headquartered in Seefeld, Germany, Airsphere provides software solutions used in more than 250 airports worldwide. The company’s customer base includes major international airports such as Heathrow Airport, Munich Airport, Frankfurt Airport, Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, Beijing Capital International Airport, Newark Liberty International Airport, Orlando International Airport, Vienna International Airport, Zurich Airport, Singapore Changi Airport, Hong Kong International Airport, and Kempegowda International Airport Bengaluru.
Airsphere’s eGate software is currently deployed in more than 8,000 eGates globally, with the company processing over 1 billion passengers annually. The company will continue operating independently following the acquisition, maintaining support for both dormakaba customers and its existing client base. Airsphere currently employs about 20 professionals.
According to dormakaba, the acquisition is expected to be accretive to Group earnings per share from day one. The transaction officially closed on May 18, 2026, although financial details were not disclosed.
