Dotdigital Group announced that it has acquired Alia Software, an AI-powered list-growth and conversion platform built for Shopify merchants, in a deal valued at an initial $30 million with the potential to reach $60 million depending on future performance.
The acquisition expands Dotdigital’s capabilities in on-site engagement and customer data capture while strengthening its position in the Shopify ecosystem.
Alia provides tools that help e-commerce brands convert anonymous website visitors into subscribers through AI-driven pop-ups and interactive experiences designed to grow email and SMS marketing lists. The platform continuously optimizes engagement through data-driven targeting and automated testing, helping merchants increase conversion rates while maintaining brand consistency across digital storefronts.
By integrating Alia into its AI-powered customer experience and data platform (CXDP), Dotdigital aims to enable brands to capture first- and zero-party customer data earlier in the buying journey and activate that data across multiple channels, including email, SMS, and other marketing touchpoints. The integration is expected to enhance cross-channel marketing capabilities and improve personalization at scale.
The acquisition also aligns with growing demand among e-commerce companies for owned customer data strategies as privacy regulations tighten and customer acquisition costs increase. The global lead capture software market is projected to grow significantly in the coming years, driven by increasing adoption of AI-powered personalization and marketing automation technologies.
Alia currently serves more than 2,700 customers and has achieved over $8 million in annual recurring revenue as of the end of 2025. The platform maintains a 4.7 out of 5 rating on the Shopify App Store and focuses specifically on helping merchants grow email and SMS audiences through optimized on-site engagement tools.
Dotdigital expects the acquisition to accelerate its product roadmap while providing additional cross-sell opportunities and expanding recurring revenue. The combined offering will give merchants a more integrated technology stack designed to support audience growth, data-driven marketing, and customer lifecycle engagement within the Shopify ecosystem.
