doxx.net has raised $38 million in Series A funding led by Andreessen Horowitz to launch the open beta of its Agentic Defined Networking platform, which is designed to give people and AI agents private networks for browsing, communications, and data transfers.
Animo Ventures and Focal.vc also participated in the round. Joel De La Garza, a partner at Andreessen Horowitz, has joined doxx.net’s board.
The company was founded by Barrett Lyon, who previously founded DDoS mitigation company Prolexic Technologies, which was acquired by Akamai, along with BitGravity, XDN and Defense.net.
doxx.net’s Agentic Defined Networking platform allows users and AI agents to establish private networks, configure connectivity and security policies, transfer files and communicate peer-to-peer.
The company said users can get started without providing an email address, phone number or other personal information.
The platform gives AI agents their own network identities and private communications channels while providing access to a full network API with native Model Context Protocol support.
doxx.net is positioning the system around the growing use of autonomous agents that can browse websites, access services and take actions with authority delegated by users.
Its DNS-level security technology is designed to stop connections to known and emerging malicious destinations. The company said its system blocked more than 38 million threats during its closed beta beginning in December 2025.
The platform’s P2P communications capabilities support end-to-end encrypted voice calls, video, chat and file transfers without a communications server sitting between participants.
Other features include DNS Protection combining 30 filter lists with a neural network, six covert networking protocols designed to function where VPNs are blocked, browser and device anti-fingerprinting and onion routing.
doxx.net also operates what it calls a Parallel Internet Ecosystem, including its own DNS root, IP space, certificate authority and 196 custom top-level domains.
The company operates its own bare-metal infrastructure and says its network extends across six continents.
Native applications are available for iOS, macOS and Android, with Windows and Linux support also offered.
KEY QUOTES:
“Have you ever had your agents configure your network, lease public IP addresses, and set up your security policy, to then discover you can call your friends through your own private network with no one in the middle? No record of the call? No phone company involved, where your phone is also the server? That was our first freedom call.”
Barrett Lyon, Founder and CEO of doxx.net
“The industry sells privacy as a feature while routing your traffic through rented infrastructure they don’t own and can’t verify. We physically built something different: a platform where privacy comes from the architecture itself, not a policy document. We do that so people and agents using the network, not third parties, set the terms of their privacy. They know what you search, where you go, and who you talk to. We don’t. And we built the network so we never can.”
Barrett Lyon, Founder and CEO of doxx.net
“The internet was never designed for privacy. doxx.net has built a one-stop privacy stack from first principles, delivering truly private security and communications capabilities, so humans and AI agents can run on a network that is private by architecture, not by marketing promise.”
Joel De La Garza, Partner at Andreessen Horowitz
