Dynasty Financial Partners, a company focused on the independent wealth-management movement, and Diamond Consultants, a well-known financial-advisor recruiting, consulting, and executive-search firm, unveiled the Breakaway Investment Banking Initiative recently. This new offering targets advisor teams with over US$1 billion in assets who are evaluating whether to transition to a W-2 model firm, launch an independent enterprise, merge with or sell to an existing registered investment advisor, or raise growth capital.
Under the initiative, Dynasty’s investment-banking arm will deploy its expertise in valuations, recapitalizations, and deal execution. Concurrently, Diamond brings its 25-year network of advisor teams, having facilitated over $400 billion in transitions involving $1 billion+ advisors, to offer strategic advisory and transition consulting.
The collaboration responds to a growing shift in the wealth-management landscape where large advisor teams face multiple strategic options and significant decisions. Instead of simply accepting a recruiting package from a wirehouse, these teams now evaluate comprehensive choices that include product-suite independence, recapitalisation with private-equity partners, or mergers with high-growth firms. The initiative is designed as a bespoke, purpose-built solution rather than an add-on to existing services.
