Dynasty Financial Partners has appointed renowned equity compensation leader Brian McDonald as a Senior Advisor, marking a significant addition to the firm’s leadership as it continues to deepen its capabilities in the wealth management and corporate benefits sectors.
McDonald brings decades of experience from top financial institutions, including Morgan Stanley, where he served as Managing Director overseeing workplace financial solutions, equity compensation, and retirement benefits, and Charles Schwab, where he led wealth management and stock plan services initiatives. His appointment comes as demand grows for greater integration between corporate benefits and independent wealth solutions, a segment increasingly underserved by traditional brokerage models.
Dynasty’s network of independent firms, which recently saw Atlanta-based OpenArc launch successfully into independence, will now have access to McDonald’s expertise in designing equity compensation and workplace financial planning solutions that align with the evolving needs of high-net-worth clients and advisors.
In addition to his advisory role, Dynasty will take a minority stake in Grantd, an AI-driven equity compensation advice platform founded by McDonald, which helps employees and advisors make informed decisions about their corporate stock holdings. The investment reinforces Dynasty’s strategy to combine technology innovation with advisory excellence to advance the independent RIA ecosystem.
Dynasty currently services over $120 billion in client assets across more than 500 advisors in 55 independent firms and manages $75 billion on its turnkey investment platform.
