Dynatrace is an observability and software intelligence company that helps enterprises understand complex digital environments, automate operations, and improve business performance. As Chief Transformation Officer, Colleen Kozak leads enterprise-wide transformation initiatives spanning AI strategy, business observability, and operational modernization. She also oversees the company’s internal AI strategy and its “Dynatrace on Dynatrace” implementation. Pulse 2.0 interviewed Kozak to learn more about enterprise transformation, Dynatrace Intelligence, autonomous operations, and the organizational changes required to succeed in the AI era.

Enterprise-Wide Transformation
When asked what enterprise-wide transformation looks like at Dynatrace and which priorities she is driving as Chief Transformation Officer, Kozak explained:
At Dynatrace , we’re focused on helping organizations succeed in the AI era by turning digital complexity into a competitive advantage, shifting digital ecosystems away from being a source of friction and toward becoming a strategic asset.
Our platform brings these environments together so customers can understand their systems, automate intelligently, and innovate faster with real-time insights. You can see this in action in this recent video by our team that explores how customers are using Dynatrace to move faster and build with more confidence.
With that in mind, our enterprise-wide transformation is anchored around three core priorities that shape how we run the company and how we show up for our customers:
- Comprehensive AI strategy: This spans everything from core AI capabilities to agentic AI. As the landscape evolves rapidly, we’re focused on progressing from reactive operations to root cause analysis, then proactive monitoring, and ultimately autonomous operations. In my role, I’m responsible for driving our internal AI strategy across the organization, leveraging AI to increase productivity, drive revenue, and scale effectively.
- Business observability: We’re deeply invested in understanding how our critical business processes perform end to end, particularly our most business-critical, revenue-generating workflows. With my team, we actively leverage business observability to ensure these processes deliver reliable, measurable outcomes and continuously improve performance.
- Tool consolidation: Like many organizations, we’re focused on achieving more with less. We’re simplifying our architecture to reduce complexity and improve efficiency across our landscape. At the same time, we’re evolving our IT organization to leverage AI-driven autonomous operations, reflecting what many leaders across the industry are working toward as they look to scale more efficiently in increasingly complex environments.
Dynatrace Intelligence And Autonomous Operations
When asked what the newly introduced Dynatrace Intelligence agentic operations system provides for enterprises and how it changes what is possible as organizations move toward autonomous operations, Kozak said:
Dynatrace Intelligence represents the next phase of our platform and a meaningful step forward in how enterprises operate increasingly complex, AI-driven environments. It brings together deterministic AI, grounded in real-time causal context, with agentic AI that can reason and act within clearly defined guardrails.
That combination is what allows our customers to move beyond reactive operations toward more preventive and ultimately autonomous outcomes.
Trust is critical here. As AI workloads become more dynamic, teams need confidence that autonomous actions are based on accurate, environment-specific facts. Dynatrace Intelligence provides that foundation through deep, real-time visibility across cloud and AI-native systems, creating a real-time, causal understanding of the environment and anchoring agentic reasoning in precise data.
This connection between insight and action changes what’s possible. Instead of detecting issues and handing them off for analysis, organizations can safely automate prevention, remediation, and optimization at scale.
Teams remain firmly in control, adopting autonomy in phases, and building confidence over time. The result is reduced operational burden, more resilient systems, and more time for people to focus on strategic work.

Lessons From Scaling Global Businesses
When asked what lessons from scaling global, multibillion-dollar businesses she is applying to Dynatrace’s next chapter, Kozak explained:
Throughout my career driving transformation, whether consulting or leading change at large technology companies, one principle has remained constant: transformation succeeds at the intersection of people, processes, and technology.
Technology alone never solves challenges; it must integrate with organizational structure and operating models.
That principle is even more important in today’s rapidly evolving AI landscape. While agentic AI can take aspects of technology and process, people’s roles evolve rather than disappear. Teams must focus on modeling, tuning, and optimizing these systems to drive efficiency and business outcomes.
The biggest mistakes occur when organizations focus solely on technology, thinking, “We’ll implement this tool and everything will be solved.” We see this with customers.
You can’t simply deploy Dynatrace; you must consider who will operate it, how it fits into existing workflows, and how it supports your broader operational approach.
In reality, one of the biggest barriers to successful AI transformation isn’t access to tools; it’s the willingness to change how teams operate.
This holistic thinking is where we see the greatest customer success. We partner with customers across people, processes, and technology, an approach that differentiates us from many observability vendors.
Future Goals And Organizational Priorities
When asked which organizational capabilities and changes are most critical as Dynatrace enters its next phase of growth, Kozak concluded:
The capabilities that will drive our next phase reflect everything I’ve discussed: maintaining our focus on people, process, and technology as we scale; deepening our AI strategy; and continuing to drive meaningful efficiency.
We’re also focused on leveraging AI to drive more impactful business outcomes, particularly through greater automation and smarter decision-making across the organization.
Most critically, we’ll continue partnering with customers in that transformational way, going beyond providing technology to help them reimagine how they operate.
By breaking down silos between teams, tools, and data, we enable organizations to move faster and operate more efficiently. We empower developers, SREs, and business leaders alike to leverage the same unified data in context for their specific needs.
The future isn’t just about having better technology. It’s about enabling customers to transform their entire operating model through insight and automation.
