Dynatrace To Buy Bindplane To Strengthen AI-Powered Observability And Telemetry Control

Dynatrace announced it has entered into an agreement to acquire Bindplane, a modern telemetry pipeline built on open standards that acts as a control plane for data from disparate sources. The acquisition is designed to extend Dynatrace’s capabilities across the full telemetry lifecycle, from edge data collection through analytics, while enhancing flexibility, access, and control for customers managing logs, metrics, and application data at scale.

The move comes as cloud-native architectures and AI-driven applications significantly increase the scale and complexity of modern systems. Organizations are facing exponential growth in observability data, including logs, metrics, traces, and events, which creates challenges in cost management, data fragmentation, and extracting meaningful insights from diverse inputs.

Bindplane addresses these challenges by introducing a unified telemetry pipeline built on OpenTelemetry, enabling teams to collect, process, and route observability data in real time before ingestion into downstream systems. This allows organizations to filter unnecessary data, standardize signals across environments, enrich telemetry with contextual insights, and route data flexibly across observability, security, and storage platforms.

By integrating Bindplane’s telemetry pipeline with Dynatrace’s AI-powered observability platform, the combined offering aims to improve the quality and consistency of observability data, reduce noise, and enable more accurate and explainable AI-driven insights. The approach also supports multi-cloud and multi-tool environments, helping organizations maintain flexibility while scaling AI-driven operations.

The acquisition extends Dynatrace upstream into telemetry management, allowing customers to control how data is processed before analysis. This enables enterprises to modernize legacy observability practices, adopt open standards more effectively, and optimize telemetry pipelines for cost, performance, and governance.

Bindplane will continue to operate as a standalone offering, ensuring continuity for existing users while benefiting from increased investment and deeper integration with the Dynatrace platform. Dynatrace aims to accelerate innovation and deliver greater value to customers by unifying telemetry management with AI-powered observability.
