ECARX Holdings announced it has signed a share subscription agreement to make a $23 million strategic investment in Lotus Technology Inc. through a private placement, aiming to broaden the companies’ collaboration into a more integrated global partnership.

Under the agreement, dated December 23, 2025, ECARX will purchase 16,788,321 newly issued ordinary shares of Lotus Tech at $1.37 per share. The transaction is expected to close within 30 days, subject to customary conditions, and the shares will be subject to a six-month lock-up with customary exceptions.

The companies said their initial focus will be deploying ECARX’s Pikes computing platform and Cloudpeak cross-domain software stack with full Google Automotive Services integration in Lotus Tech vehicles globally, a move framed as supporting ECARX’s international expansion.

The company says it was founded in 2017, listed in 2022, employs more than 1,500 people across 13 locations worldwide, and has products deployed in roughly 10 million vehicles.

Lotus Technology operates across the UK, EU, and China and describes its focus as luxury lifestyle electric vehicles and R&D across next-generation automobility technologies, including electrification and digitalization.

The companies noted the securities in the private placement have not been registered under the U.S. Securities Act of 1933 and may not be offered or sold in the United States absent registration or an applicable exemption.
