Ecopetrol Names Acting Leaders For Science, Technology And Energy Transition Businesses

Ecopetrol has announced leadership changes across its Science, Technology and Innovation and Energy Transition organizations following resolutions approved by the company’s Board of Directors.

Diana Marcela Acero Rojas has been appointed Acting Corporate Vice President of Science, Technology and Innovation, effective September 1, 2026.

Acero Rojas previously served as Ecopetrol’s Innovation and CT+i Portfolio Manager.

She succeeds Sergio Andrés Moreno Acevedo, who stepped down as Corporate Vice President of Science, Technology and Innovation at the close of business on August 31.

Ecopetrol’s board also formalized the appointment of Henryk Manuel Porras Villamil as Acting Executive Vice President of Energy Transition, effective August 31.

Porras Villamil previously served as Project Leader within the company’s Energy Transition Projects Management Department.

He succeeds Ernesto Alfonso Gómez Cabarcas, who had been temporarily serving as Acting Executive Vice President of Energy Transition through August 30.

Gómez Cabarcas will take statutory leave and subsequently plans to pursue new professional opportunities.

Ecopetrol said it will make additional disclosures when permanent appointments to the positions are made.

Ecopetrol is Colombia’s largest company and employs more than 19,000 people. The company accounts for more than 60% of Colombia’s hydrocarbon production and also participates in power transmission, infrastructure and telecommunications through its ownership interest in ISA.
