Edelman Financial Engines Partners With Orion As Wealthtech Partner To Personalize Advice at Scale

Orion has entered a new collaboration with Edelman Financial Engines (EFE) to provide advisor technology and investment management solutions that support EFE’s planning teams, the companies said. Under the arrangement, EFE is unifying core functions—portfolio management, trading, data, reporting, and advisor engagement—on Orion’s connected ecosystem.

EFE, which described itself as one of the nation’s largest independent wealth planning and workplace investment advisory firms, said the move is intended to streamline operations, strengthen collaboration across its planning organization, and give planners more time to focus on client relationships.

The partnership centers on Orion’s unified platform, which the company said is designed to help firms scale by creating a consistent operating environment across systems and workflows. Orion’s capabilities highlighted in the announcement include portfolio management and trading intended to simplify rebalancing and execution while preserving household-level preferences and tax awareness; real-time data sharing across systems within a firm’s preferred cloud environment; and advisor engagement tools and the Orion Reporting Suite, which are positioned as ways to centralize client data and communications while enabling more proactive, personalized service.

EFE said it has completed onboarding to Orion’s platform and plans to accelerate its efforts in the year ahead. Orion, for its part, framed the collaboration as aligned with its goal of reducing operational complexity for advisors and supporting personalization at scale.

Orion said it provides a “tech-enabled fiduciary process” spanning prospecting, planning, investing, and performance tracking through a single connected experience. The company noted that its broader offering includes Orion Advisor Tech, Orion Portfolio Solutions, Brinker, Redtail Technology, and Orion OCIO. Orion also reported $5.8 trillion in assets under administration and $133 billion of wealth management platform assets as of December 31, 2025, along with more than 8 million technology accounts. The company added that 17 of the Top 20 Barron’s RIA firms rely on Orion’s technology, citing Barron’s 2025 Top 100 RIA Firms list.
