Edgelord (EDGLRD), a digital IP-based studio led by Harmony Korine, announced a strategic investment from Reuben Brothers with participation from founding investor Samizdat. This investment provides significant funds into EDGLRD’s technology platform and IP portfolio.
EDGLRD works with a network of leading artists, musicians, film directors, and video game developers to blend the worlds of entertainment and AI. The studio has worked with some of the biggest names in culture, including The Weeknd, Nike, Marc Jacobs, Travis Scott, and Kim Kardashian’s SKIMS, as well as top Hollywood directors and anime studios. EDGLRD’s first feature, AGGRO DR1FT, premiered at the 80th Venice International Film Festival and has toured the globe through immersive activations.
EDGLRD, Samizdat, and Reuben Brothers will create one of the world’s biggest content generators, focusing on movies, video games, advertising, interactive content, social media, music, fashion, hospitality, and sports. And driving EDGLRD’s work across these worlds is a proprietary suite of AI-based entertainment software products designed to generate awe-inspiring visual experiences and boldly transform the creative process.
Reuben Brothers’ investment accelerates the work and catalyzes a greater impact. And through their involvement with top-tier higher educational establishments globally including the Reuben College, Oxford, specializing in AI and machine learning research, the company is a key leader in the entertainment AI space.
This announcement marks a major milestone in EDGLRD’s development, and a strategic alliance with Samizdat, which is devoted to the creation, incubation, and external financing of cultural trailblazers.
