Edulog, a leading provider of student transportation software for K-12 school districts, has received a strategic growth investment from Serent Capital, a private equity firm focused on founder-led, B2B SaaS, and technology businesses. The partnership aims to enhance Edulog’s capacity to innovate and expand its solutions for schools across North America.
Founded in 1977 by Dr. Hien Nguyen, Edulog pioneered one of the first algorithmic school bus routing systems in North America and has since evolved into a trusted technology partner for thousands of school districts in the U.S. and Canada. Its software is designed to improve safety, reduce costs, and optimize operational efficiency in student transportation.
The new investment will enable Edulog to strengthen and expand its modern cloud-native platform, Athena. Upcoming developments include more advanced optimization tools, improved user dashboards, enhanced parent engagement features, and driver support functionalities. The funding also underscores Serent Capital’s continued interest in the K-12 technology sector, with Edulog representing its ninth investment in education technology.
In connection with the transaction, experienced vertical SaaS executive Perry Turbes will join Edulog’s Board of Directors as Executive Chair through Serent’s Operating Executive Director (OED) program. The initiative pairs former CEOs with portfolio companies to provide strategic guidance and operational expertise. Turbes will collaborate closely with Edulog’s leadership to scale the business and support its mission of empowering school districts through technology.
Advisors: Macquarie Capital acted as Edulog’s exclusive financial advisor for the transaction. Financial terms were not disclosed.
