Eight Sleep, the world’s first sleep-fitness company, has raised $100 million in funding to enhance its goal of transforming beds into AI-powered sleep optimization devices. This round saw participation from investors including HSG, Valor Equity Partners, Atreides, Founders Fund, Y Combinator, and sports figures like Charles Leclerc (Ferrari F1 Driver) and Zak Brown (CEO of McLaren F1).
The company has achieved over $500 million in Pod sales and experienced a tenfold revenue increase since the Pod’s launch, analyzing over 1 billion hours of sleep data and serving customers in more than 30 countries. The new funds will fuel the development of the Sleep Agent. This AI tool interprets biometric data to optimize users’ sleep by adjusting factors such as temperature and bedtime routines.
In addition to enhancing its existing Autopilot feature, Eight Sleep aims to enter the medical space by developing AI solutions for sleep-related issues, such as menopause and sleep apnea, while also seeking FDA approval for specific uses. Recent developments include the launch of Hot Flash Mode, which provides relief from menopause symptoms using dynamic cooling.
Eight Sleep is also expanding globally, planning to enter the Chinese market as part of its strategy to establish itself as the leading sleep brand worldwide. The company is already shipping to over 30 countries, including Canada, the UK, and Australia.
