Eileen has reported 105% revenue growth during the second quarter and closed an oversubscribed pre-seed funding round led by Top Shelf Ventures. DisPact Ventures also participated in the financing. The amount of the round was not disclosed.
The company operates a last-mile retail intelligence platform that helps consumer packaged goods brands determine which products are actually available on store shelves.
Eileen has built a network of more than 35,000 active shoppers across all 50 states.
These shoppers collect photo-verified and location-stamped information about store inventory, pricing, product placement and promotional displays.
Eileen then uses computer vision and human review to verify each submission before providing the data to brands.
The company said reports can be completed in as little as 24 hours, with broader campaigns generally returning results within two to five days.
Brands can use Eileen without entering a long-term contract or meeting a minimum spending requirement. Audits can cost as little as $5 per store.
Eileen recently launched new features including gamified mobile data capture, proprietary computer vision models, real-time competitive benchmarking and tools that identify gaps between products authorized by a retailer and the products actually displayed in stores.
The company’s Campaign Hub identifies out-of-stock products, missing items, pricing differences, shelf placement, promotional compliance and competitors’ activity by store, retail chain and geographic region.
Eileen cited a recent engagement with ready-to-drink cocktail brand The Original Southside, in which its platform identified 19 authorized products that were missing from Whole Foods shelves in California.
The brand raised the issue with its buyer, contributing to a 117-case reorder.
KEY QUOTES:
“Doubling our revenue in a quarter tells us the pain is universal and nobody was serving it. Brands were being asked to choose between an enterprise contract they couldn’t afford and flying blind.”
“With Eileen, the brand knows there’s a problem before the distributor does, and often before the store does.”
Jordan Karcher, Founder and CEO of Eileen
“Just looking at Whole Foods California alone, we had 19 authorization gaps. We brought this discrepancy up to our buyer, which helped trigger a 117-case reorder for us.”
Meredith Mills-Merritt, Founder of The Original Southside
