EIV Capital has added Kristin Kelly as a Partner, strengthening the Houston-based private equity firm’s upstream energy investment team. Kelly brings nearly two decades of energy investing, private equity and transaction experience and will primarily focus on EIV Capital’s upstream strategy.
She will work alongside Claire Harvey and Jason Tracton on acquisition sourcing, underwriting and portfolio management for EIV Resources.
Kelly joins from EIG, where she was a Managing Director and most recently served as Head of Traditional Energy – Americas.
At EIG, she led the firm’s North American upstream strategy and invested across credit, structured equity and common equity. She also served on the boards of several portfolio companies.
Before EIG, Kelly worked at Tudor, Pickering, Holt & Co., serving as a Vice President in its private equity business after beginning with the firm’s investment banking group.
Her experience across multiple layers of the capital structure gives EIV Resources another senior investor capable of evaluating upstream opportunities through different commodity and capital-market cycles.
EIV Resources has developed from a newer strategy into a core component of EIV Capital’s investment platform.
The broader firm focuses on companies across the North American energy value chain and combines investment expertise with internal operating and engineering capabilities.
EIV invests in businesses that can create value through energy infrastructure development and improvement as well as through acquisitions of non-operated oil and gas interests.
The firm recently closed approximately $1.1 billion in capital commitments across its energy infrastructure and upstream strategies, according to a related EIV announcement referenced in the release.
