Elbit Systems announced it has been awarded a contract valued at approximately $350 million by an international customer to deliver upgrades to Main Battle Tanks (MBTs). The contract will be performed over a four-year period.

The modernization program includes the integration of advanced fire-control systems, electric gun and turret drive systems, communication and situational-awareness solutions, and a comprehensive mid-life upgrade package. The initiative is designed to extend the service life of the tanks while enhancing their operational readiness and battlefield effectiveness.

As part of the contract, Elbit Systems will replace and upgrade key onboard systems with lightweight, high-performance electro-optical sights featuring artificial intelligence capabilities. These systems are designed to support day and night observation while providing advanced target detection and tracking capabilities. The agreement also includes spare parts, maintenance services, technical support, and the integration of a secure, high-capacity voice communication suite to support long-term operational availability.

Elbit Systems said the project draws on expertise across its various business units to provide an integrated modernization solution that combines advanced fire control, electro-optical, and communications technologies into a single platform.

The company employs more than 20,000 people worldwide and reported revenue of $2.19 billion for the first quarter ended March 31, 2026. As of that date, Elbit Systems had an order backlog of $30.2 billion.
