Eldorado Gold has confirmed that Christian Milau will become President and CEO on September 30, 2026, as part of a broader executive leadership transition.
George Burns will retire as CEO on the same date after nine years in the position but will remain a member of Eldorado’s board.
Milau will also join the board, supporting leadership continuity as the mining company advances its operating and development priorities.
Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer Frank Herbert will transition to a Senior Advisor role ahead of his planned retirement during the second quarter of 2027.
Tamiko Ohta will become Senior Vice President, Legal and General Counsel. She has served as Eldorado’s Vice President of Legal for three years and has more than 30 years of experience.
Paul Ferneyhough’s role will expand to Executive Vice President, Strategy and Chief Financial Officer, with responsibility for corporate development and legal functions.
As the Skouries project moves from construction into operations, Eldorado will eliminate the Executive Vice President, Development, Greece position. Louw Smith will leave the company on September 30.
Responsibility for Greek operations will transfer to Niklas Frank, Senior Vice President of Operations for Europe.
Eldorado’s global projects team will continue to be led by Senior Vice President of Projects Gordana Vicentijevic.
