Electreon announced that it has completed the acquisition of InductEV, a U.S.-based provider of high-power stationary wireless charging for heavy-duty transit and freight vehicles. The transaction combines Electreon’s dynamic wireless charging technology with InductEV’s ultra-fast stationary charging systems, creating a unified platform designed to support a wide range of electric vehicle fleet operations.
By integrating InductEV’s assets and intellectual property, Electreon said the combined company will offer one of the most comprehensive wireless charging portfolios in the industry. The platform is designed to support passenger vehicles, light delivery vans, transit buses, and heavy-duty class-8 trucks across multiple operational environments.
The combined offering enables several charging scenarios within a single infrastructure ecosystem. Vehicles can charge dynamically while driving on roads equipped with embedded wireless technology, receive rapid “top-up” charging during scheduled stops such as bus stations or taxi queues, and charge automatically when parked in depots or logistics facilities. The company said these options allow fleets to reduce downtime while maintaining continuous operations.
Electreon also noted that wireless charging infrastructure can reduce total cost of ownership for fleet operators by enabling smaller and lighter batteries, which can increase vehicle payload capacity and reduce vehicle purchase costs. The hands-free charging approach is also designed to improve driver safety and eliminate the need to handle cables or connectors in harsh weather conditions.
The integrated platform now includes several deployment configurations. Dynamic “LINE” charging systems enable vehicles to charge while traveling on highways or urban corridors. Semi-dynamic “DASH” systems deliver high-power bursts of energy at locations such as traffic lights and bus stops. Stationary “DOT” charging systems provide automatic charging for parked vehicles, while “Ultra DOT” systems offer high-power wireless charging for heavy-duty transit and freight fleets.
Electreon said the acquisition also strengthens its intellectual property portfolio, bringing together nearly 400 granted and pending patents related to wireless power transfer and charging infrastructure. The combined technology stack includes software designed to optimize energy delivery and help fleet operators avoid peak electricity demand charges and costly grid upgrades.
The deal also expands the company’s geographic and manufacturing footprint. Electreon’s global production capabilities will be complemented by InductEV’s Build America Buy America compliant offerings, allowing North American transit agencies and federally funded projects to deploy wireless charging infrastructure while remaining eligible for government incentives.
Electreon currently manages dozens of wireless charging projects across multiple countries and works with more than 100 partners worldwide. The company said the acquisition will provide fleet operators with a single end-to-end wireless charging solution capable of supporting multiple vehicle types and operating environments.
The combined product portfolio will be showcased at the Advanced Clean Transportation Expo in Las Vegas in May 2026, where the company plans to demonstrate its integrated wireless charging technologies for commercial fleet electrification.
