Emerald Lake Capital Management has invested in W.E.C.S. Electric Supply (WECS) and Electrical Cable Specialists (ECS), supporting the merger of the two companies into a unified specialty distribution and cable integration platform. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed. The combined company will operate under the WECS name, serving customers across critical power and infrastructure markets including renewable energy, data centers, industrial facilities, power generation, transit, and utility projects.
The transaction brings together two complementary businesses with expertise spanning specialty electrical products, complex cable packages, and project execution. WECS has built its business around supplying medium- and low-voltage cable, electrical and mechanical components, engineered replacement products, and hard-to-source parts for construction, operations, and maintenance projects. ECS specializes in distributing low-, medium-, and high-voltage wire and cable while providing value-added services such as specification compliance, project controls, inventory management, reel tracking, packaging, logistics, and fixed cable pricing.
Emerald Lake plans to accelerate the platform’s growth through investments in inventory, facilities, technology, operating systems, and talent. The private equity firm also intends to pursue strategic acquisitions to broaden the company’s capabilities and geographic footprint, positioning the combined business to support customers throughout every stage of the power and infrastructure project lifecycle.
Following the merger, the leadership team will include Jerry James as Chief Executive Officer, Theresa Eaton as Chief Strategy Officer, and Jim Hibberd, an Operating Partner at Emerald Lake, as Chairman. Mike Ip will serve as Chief Operating Officer, Justin Pecoroni as Chief Commercial and Innovation Officer, and Dan Niemeyer as Chief Financial Officer.
