Emigrant Partners: Strategic Investment In Mutual Group To Expand Advisor Platform And Growth Initiatives

By Amit Chowdhry ● Today at 12:05 PM

Emigrant Partners announced a strategic minority investment in Mutual Group, a national platform serving independent financial advisors and registered investment advisors.

The investment is designed to support Mutual Group’s next phase of growth by expanding its national footprint, enhancing advisor engagement, and accelerating platform development. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Founded in 1982, Mutual provides a combination of broker-dealer and advisory services to more than 270 advisor teams and RIAs overseeing over $15 billion in assets. The firm’s platform includes Evolve, a proprietary solution that enables advisors to transition from commission-based models to fee-only structures without the complexity of dual registration.

As part of the transaction, Mutual’s existing leadership team will retain majority ownership and continue to oversee the firm’s strategy and day-to-day operations, maintaining its independence while benefiting from Emigrant Partners’ capital and industry expertise.

The investment aligns with Emigrant Partners’ strategy of making minority, non-voting investments in wealth and asset management firms, providing tailored capital solutions while allowing partner firms to maintain operational control.

InCap Group served as exclusive financial advisor to Mutual Group, and Stradley Ronon Stevens & Young acted as legal counsel on the transaction.
