Emobi: $3.4 Million Seed Funding Raised To Scale JustPlug And Expand Plug-And-Charge EV Roaming

Emobi announced it has closed a $3.4 million seed round to expand its JustPlug technology and scale its EV charging roaming infrastructure across North America. The company is known as North America’s largest EV charging roaming and JustPlug infrastructure provider and said the new capital will be used to strengthen its technical platform and accelerate commercial partnerships with automakers, fleets, charging operators, and infrastructure providers.

The round was led by Florida Funders, with participation from existing investors including Aves Ventures, Collaborative Fund, Gaingels, Gener8tor, Goodwater Capital, Oasis Capital, OneSixOne Ventures, Ride Wave Ventures, and Y Combinator. Emobi said it is currently running pilot programs with three of the top 10 EV automakers in North America, designed to test and implement JustPlug and set the stage for broader commercial rollouts.

JustPlug is positioned as a cloud-based “Plug & Charge” solution that enables secure, automated charging without requiring special hardware, software, or setup. Emobi said the system uses the ISO 15118 digital certificate infrastructure for cloud-based authentication, along with an AI-powered memory map for charger-vehicle identification. The company argues this approach addresses a key constraint in the current Plug & Charge ecosystem: most existing chargers and vehicles lack the hardware and firmware needed for traditional implementations, leaving an estimated 80% of chargers and vehicles unable to support Plug & Charge. Emobi said JustPlug extends that functionality across both modern and legacy infrastructure, aiming to remove friction from the charging experience by eliminating apps and RFID cards.

Emobi said the financing follows several recent milestones, including the launch of JustPlug and multiple partnerships announced in 2025 that it says demonstrate the product’s flexibility across public, fleet, and customer-managed charging environments. The company cited collaborations with Flipturn, ElectricFish, and Curo as examples of deployments spanning customer-managed sites, grid-independent ultra-fast depots, and nationwide fleet access.

Beyond JustPlug, Emobi said it plans to grow its ecosystem, which it said spans more than 140,000 charging ports across 28-plus networks. The company also highlighted a strategic focus on partnerships with EV charging software and mobility platforms, including Monta and Parkopedia, along with other e-mobility service providers in North America.

Emobi said it holds two provisional patents and serves more than 40 enterprise customers. It also stated it is trusted by the U.S. Department of Energy and the Department of Transportation.

KEY QUOTES

“For over a decade, the EV industry has promised seamless charging but drivers are still fumbling with apps, RFID cards, and closed ecosystems. We’re not waiting for another round of network upgrades or regulatory alignment – JustPlug breaks that stalemate. It’s the first solution that cuts through the fragmentation and gives power back to the people who actually drive EVs. This funding accelerates that mission and positions Emobi to make seamless and secure charging the norm, not the exception.”
