Engine, a CPG analytics and data science provider, and Nuqleous, a provider of space planning and category management solutions, announced they have completed a strategic merger to create a unified omnichannel retail intelligence platform for consumer packaged goods companies.
The combined company will operate under the Engine brand and aims to replace fragmented point solutions with a single integrated platform that connects retail data, analytics, data science, and shelf execution. By consolidating these capabilities, the new platform offers a single interface for planning, execution, and optimization across retail operations.
The combined solution integrates Engine’s capabilities in ETL, reporting, data science, and AI with Nuqleous’ expertise in content and category management, including its Shelf IQ and Shelf Analytics tools. This creates a unified suite that spans from data ingestion to shelf-level execution.
The transaction also accelerates investment in AI-driven innovation. Planned capabilities include AI-powered assortment optimization at the point of distribution level, large-scale planogram automation through combined technologies such as PlanoFX and Shelf IQ, automated insights that identify trends and root causes in data, and a conversational AI interface that enables natural language queries without requiring SQL or dashboards.
Nick Dozier will serve as CEO of the combined company. The company remains backed by Rubicon Technology Partners, which continues as the majority investor. JEGI LEONIS acted as the M&A advisor to Engine in the transaction.
The merger positions the combined entity to compete as a full-stack retail intelligence platform, offering end-to-end capabilities that unify data, analytics, and in-store execution for CPG companies navigating increasingly competitive retail environments.
