Red Iron Group announced a strategic growth investment in Engine Room, a finance and accounting partner focused on venture-backed life science companies. The investment is intended to support organizational expansion, enhance service capabilities throughout the client life cycle, and increase the use of technology and AI to improve client outcomes. Engine Room will continue operating independently under its existing brand and leadership structure.
Founded in 2012, Engine Room has supported more than 300 venture-backed life science companies by providing outsourced finance and accounting services combined with CFO-level strategic guidance. The company works with clients from seed stage through IPO and beyond, helping build and manage high-performance finance operations.
Engine Room will remain founder-led by co-founders Mike Rose and Carole-Lynn Glass, who will continue as significant owners alongside Red Iron Group. The company said it will maintain its leadership team, brand identity, and exclusive focus on the life sciences sector.
Red Iron Group said the investment aligns with its strategy of supporting specialist finance and accounting firms that develop deep industry expertise in mission-critical sectors. The firm noted that its long-term capital structure allows portfolio companies to invest in growth and client relationships without pressure tied to shorter investment cycles.
Engine Room said the funding will help expand its team, deepen service capabilities, and continue investments in systems and technology designed to support clients as they reach key operational and financial milestones.
The company provides a range of finance and accounting services, including GAAP accounting, FP&A, AP/AR, payroll, clinical trial and grant accounting, compliance, and equity administration for venture-backed life science companies across the United States.
