Helios Technologies’ Enovation Controls business has acquired certain assets of Radio Sound as part of a new strategic relationship that also includes a multi-year contract to provide advanced electronics solutions to Indian Motorcycle.
The acquired Radio Sound assets include intellectual property and technology capabilities that Helios plans to integrate into its Electronics segment.
Financial terms of the asset acquisition and the value of the Indian Motorcycle contract were not announced.
The transaction adds advanced audio products and engineering expertise to Helios’ existing electronics portfolio.
Radio Sound’s capabilities include amp-on-speaker technology, automotive audio bus communication, automatic speaker detection, custom enclosure design, vehicle-to-vehicle communications and antenna technology.
Helios believes the acquired technology can support the Indian Motorcycle program while also creating opportunities to introduce additional solutions to existing customers and adjacent markets.
The company expects the transaction to strengthen its presence in the recreational vehicle market and expand the range of electronics technologies it can offer.
Helios plans to use the acquired intellectual property as a foundation for developing additional products across its Electronics segment.
The Indian Motorcycle award is particularly significant because Helios described the motorcycle company as an important returning customer.
The agreement reflects Helios’ CORE Strategy, which emphasizes expanding customer relationships, increasing the company’s share of customers’ spending and applying existing technologies across a wider range of end markets.
Helios Technologies develops engineered motion-control and electronic-control technologies used across multiple industrial and mobile equipment markets.
