Envestnet Names Sue Burton As Chief Marketing Officer

Envestnet has appointed Sue Burton as chief marketing officer, tasking the longtime financial services marketing executive with building an integrated global marketing engine and advancing the company’s digital experience strategy as it targets its next phase of growth.

Burton will report to CEO Chris Todd and lead Envestnet’s global marketing organization across brand, communications, demand generation, channel marketing, and product marketing. The company said her mandate includes strengthening market leadership and accelerating performance across digital experience, content strategy, and multi-channel engagement spanning paid, earned, social, and owned programs.

Burton most recently served as senior vice president of marketing, digital, and member experience at Digital Federal Credit Union, where Envestnet said she helped drive double-digit deposit growth, increased digital engagement through AI-powered personalization, and redesigned lifecycle marketing to improve member value. Before DCU, she spent nearly a decade at Bank of America, including roles as wealth management CXO and private bank segment executive, where she led work to define and scale the Private Bank’s value proposition, expand digital engagement, strengthen brand affinity, and drive referral and revenue growth. Earlier in her career, she held marketing and product management leadership roles at JPMorgan Chase and Fidelity Investments.

Envestnet provides wealth management technology, insights, and support to advisors and institutions. The company said it has about $7 trillion in platform assets and is used by more than a third of financial advisors across banks, wealth managers, brokerages, and RIAs.
