The leadership transition follows Janssen’s tenure overseeing EOG’s financial operations, including accounting, financial reporting, planning, treasury, and corporate financial strategy.
Janssen joined a predecessor company of EOG in 1995 and subsequently held several senior financial leadership positions. She was appointed Executive Vice President and CFO in January 2024, after serving as Senior Vice President and Chief Accounting Officer.
Throughout her career at EOG, Janssen has held responsibilities spanning accounting, financial reporting and planning, and treasury operations. Her experience across these functions has provided continuity as the company has developed its financial organization and managed its capital requirements.
As CFO, Janssen emphasized capital discipline and maintaining a strong balance sheet, priorities that EOG Chairman and CEO Ezra Y. Yacob identified as important components of the company’s financial strategy.
She will remain with EOG in an advisory capacity while Hibbard prepares to assume responsibility for the finance organization. The transition is intended to preserve institutional knowledge and provide continuity across the company’s financial planning and reporting functions.
Hibbard joined EOG in August 2025 as Senior Vice President, Finance, bringing more than two decades of experience in the oil and gas industry.
Before joining EOG, he spent more than 20 years at Morgan Stanley, holding investment banking positions of increasing responsibility. He most recently served as a Managing Director in Morgan Stanley’s Global Energy Group.
His investment banking background includes extensive experience working within the energy sector, providing a financial markets perspective that will complement EOG’s existing corporate finance capabilities.
Since joining EOG, Hibbard has worked within the company’s finance organization, gaining experience with its operations and financial strategy ahead of his appointment as CFO.
In his new position, he will assume executive responsibility for EOG’s financial organization and support the company’s capital allocation and financial management priorities.
The appointment represents an internal succession following Hibbard’s arrival in 2025 and Janssen’s planned retirement after more than three decades with the company.
Yacob emphasized that Hibbard’s energy industry experience and commitment to financial discipline will support the continued execution of EOG’s financial strategy.
Headquartered in Houston, EOG Resources is one of the largest crude oil and natural gas exploration and production companies in the United States, with proved reserves in the United States and Trinidad.
The company’s operations require ongoing decisions on capital investment, financial planning, and resource management across its exploration and production activities.
Hibbard’s appointment will place him in charge of the finance organization as EOG continues managing those activities, while Janssen’s advisory role will support an orderly leadership transition.
