EOS Investors announced the acquisition of The Press Hotel, Autograph Collection, a 110-room lifestyle hotel located in Portland, Maine. The transaction expands the firm’s New England portfolio to 16 hotels, including 11 properties in Maine.
Originally constructed in 1947 as the headquarters of the Portland Press Herald, The Press Hotel was later transformed into a luxury boutique property and now operates under Marriott’s Autograph Collection brand. Located in Portland’s Old Port neighborhood, the hotel features 110 guestrooms and suites, the UNION restaurant, the Inkwell cocktail lounge, approximately 3,000 square feet of meeting space, a fitness center, and design elements inspired by the building’s journalistic heritage.
EOS said the acquisition aligns with its strategy of investing in high-quality leisure-oriented assets where it sees opportunities to enhance performance and create additional value. The company noted that its existing presence in Maine helped position it to pursue the acquisition.
The property adds another asset to EOS’s growing New England portfolio, which spans hospitality properties across Maine, Massachusetts, and other resort destinations. The firm continues to pursue opportunities in both hospitality and residential real estate markets where it can leverage its operating expertise and long-standing relationships.
Portland continues to benefit from strong tourism demand, infrastructure investments, and business activity. The city attracts visitors from across the United States and is supported by air service through Portland International Jetport and ongoing public and private investment throughout the region.
