EP Technology Group Acquires JBI Technologies To Expand Hospitality Technology Services

EP Technology Group has acquired JBI Technologies, an IT consulting and systems integration company specializing in the hospitality industry. The acquisition is intended to expand EP Technology Group’s capabilities in managed services and technology infrastructure while supporting JBI’s next phase of growth.

Founded in 2011 by Jerry Balousek, JBI Technologies provides technology infrastructure services to hotels and hospitality brands throughout the United States. Its offerings include technology infrastructure projects, new construction deployments, structured cabling, IT buildouts, systems integration, and ongoing technical support.

The acquisition combines JBI’s specialized experience serving hospitality properties with EP Technology Group’s broader operational resources and technology services platform. The companies expect the combination to create opportunities for expanding service offerings, strengthening customer relationships, and supporting additional growth across the hospitality technology market.

Balousek, who founded JBI after more than 20 years in the technology industry, will remain actively involved in the business following the acquisition. His continued participation is expected to provide leadership continuity while preserving the customer relationships and industry expertise that have supported JBI’s development.

JBI initially focused on technology infrastructure for hotel development and construction projects. Over time, the company expanded its capabilities to support a broader range of hospitality technology requirements, establishing relationships with hotel properties and hospitality brands across the country.

Its services address the technology needs of both newly developed and existing hotel properties, including the installation and integration of infrastructure required to support hospitality operations.

EP Technology Group pursued the acquisition as part of its broader strategy to strengthen its position in the managed services and technology infrastructure markets. Adding JBI provides specialized hospitality industry capabilities that complement EP Technology Group’s existing operations.

The transaction also provides JBI with access to additional resources that could support geographic expansion, service development, and operational growth while maintaining its established customer-focused approach.

The acquisition followed a competitive sale process that attracted interest from multiple prospective buyers. As JBI reached a new stage in its development, Balousek sought an acquisition partner capable of supporting expansion while preserving the company’s culture and relationships with customers and employees.

EP Technology Group was ultimately selected based on its strategic alignment with JBI’s long-term objectives and its ability to provide a platform for continued growth.

Viking Mergers & Acquisitions facilitated the transaction, with Associate Partner Andrew Hakkarainen and Advisor Max Roix representing JBI throughout the process.

For EP Technology Group, the acquisition expands its exposure to the hospitality technology sector, where hotel owners and operators rely on specialized service providers to deploy, integrate, and maintain increasingly complex technology infrastructure.

For JBI, joining a larger technology services organization creates an opportunity to broaden its capabilities and pursue additional customer relationships while retaining the specialized expertise that has defined its operations since 2011.
