EQT Launches Nexus ELTIF Private Equity To Broaden Access To Private Markets

By Amit Chowdhry ● Sep 15, 2025

EQT has announced the Nexus ELTIF Private Equity fund, a new investment vehicle designed to open up private market opportunities to a broader range of investors under the European Union’s updated ELTIF 2.0 framework. ELTIF, short for European Long-Term Investment Fund, is a regulated structure created to channel capital into long-term, often illiquid asset classes such as private equity, infrastructure, and real estate.

Traditionally, these types of investments have been accessible mainly to large institutions. But the revised rules now make them available to eligible individual investors across more EU and EEA countries, with lower minimum investment requirements than older private asset structures.

The new fund is an extension of EQT’s existing Nexus evergreen product suite. It is designed to provide individual investors with access to a portfolio similar to that of institutional clients. It will focus on EQT’s Private Capital strategies, which span early-stage investments, growth capital, and large-scale buyouts. The portfolio will target sectors where EQT has deep expertise, including healthcare, technology, and services, with investments spread across Europe, North America, and the Asia-Pacific region.

By utilizing the ELTIF framework, EQT aims to make private market investing more inclusive, enabling non-professional investors to diversify beyond traditional public equities and bonds. The fund will be distributed through third-party channels, including private banks and wealth management platforms, with subscriptions set to open in November 2025.

With this launch, EQT’s evergreen platform now consists of five ongoing investment solutions covering private equity, infrastructure, and real estate strategies. These products are available to eligible investors in multiple jurisdictions worldwide, including Europe, Asia-Pacific, and the Americas. The addition of the Nexus ELTIF Private Equity fund marks another step in EQT’s strategy to expand its reach in the private wealth segment while maintaining the scale, diversification, and long-term focus that have characterized its institutional offerings.
