EssilorLuxottica announced it has acquired a meaningful stake in Top Charoen, formalizing a strategic partnership and reinforcing its presence in Thailand.

The transaction marks a deepening of the long-standing relationship between the two companies, positioning EssilorLuxottica as a partner in Top Charoen, the largest optical retail chain in Thailand with more than 2,000 stores nationwide.

Thailand serves as a strategic hub for EssilorLuxottica’s global manufacturing and business operations. Through this partnership, the company aims to expand access to vision care, strengthen its proximity to consumers, and better anticipate evolving customer needs across the region.

Founded in 1947, Top Charoen began with a single store in Saraburi and a mobile van designed to bring eye care services to remote communities. Today, the company operates under multiple banners including Top Charoen, Luxoptic, Eye Class, Eye Bright, Eye Sport, Big C Optical, Robinson Optical, and Beautiful Optic, while also maintaining an e-commerce presence through its own platform and third-party marketplaces.

The partnership aligns with EssilorLuxottica’s broader strategy of advancing vision care globally while expanding into emerging categories such as wearable eyewear technologies.
