Everforth ECS has secured a three-year sole-source contract expansion with a $148 million ceiling to continue supporting the Chief Digital and AI Office’s Secure Unclassified Network while developing next-generation capabilities for SUNet 2.0.
The indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity award extends Everforth ECS support for the program for more than a decade.
The company was separately selected through a Commercial Solutions Opening to research and prototype SUNet 2.0 for the Office of the Under Secretary of War for Research and Engineering and the Chief Digital and AI Office.
Under the expanded SUNet contract, Everforth ECS will continue operating and maintaining the existing environment while supporting migration of mission capabilities to future architecture.
SUNet 2.0 is intended to provide Department of War organizations and mission partners with a secure digital environment for collaborating and rapidly developing, testing and validating AI and machine learning capabilities.
The modernization effort will explore hybrid cloud infrastructure, zero-trust security controls and modern data management capabilities.
Everforth ECS said those technologies are intended to reduce the time required to onboard users and move new capabilities toward operational deployment.
The company will simultaneously sustain the current SUNet environment for existing users while developing SUNet 2.0 as a secure experimentation environment.
KEY QUOTES:
“These awards represent the next chapter of a mission we have supported alongside the Department of War and its mission partners for more than a decade. While we continue to keep SUNet secure and responsive to the mission, we will also help transition to what comes next. By bringing our operational knowledge together with modern cloud, cybersecurity, automation, and AI capabilities, we can provide CDAO and its mission partners a faster, more secure way to experiment, collaborate, and turn emerging technologies into operational capability.”
Donnie Scott, President of Everforth ECS
“Our many years supporting SUNet have taught us our users’ challenges, what they’re constrained by, and what actually moves their mission forward. That experience is shaping every part of this modernization, with the goal of giving mission partners a faster, more secure way to test, integrate, and operationalize emerging capabilities.”
