Evergreen: Cultivated Beef Producer Secures $6 Million And Rebrands From Omeat

Omeat has rebranded as Evergreen Select and raised an additional $6 million in an open round, sharpening its message around one theme: using cultivated beef to bring predictability to a beef supply chain the company says is defined by volatility.

Evergreen positioned the rebrand as a move away from cultivated meat as a consumer novelty and toward what it framed as an “infrastructure solution” for the existing beef industry, aimed at helping partners manage price swings, supply shocks, and forecasting uncertainty. The company said the new capital came in a constrained 2025 fundraising environment and was backed by S2G Investments, BOLD Capital Partners, Good Startup, and other existing investors.

The company said part of the proceeds will support regulatory due diligence as it advances toward approval, which it expects to secure in the near future. Evergreen also said it is working with meat distributors in the United States and Singapore to bring blended ground beef products to market, and that it is well advanced in the regulatory review process in both regions.

Evergreen described its go-to-market approach as partnership-driven and B2B-focused, emphasizing repeatability, operational fit, and integration into existing meat-production workflows through blended products designed to stabilize pricing and improve forecastability. The company said it has raised more than $55 million to date to build and validate a cost-competitive cultivated beef platform and that its products contain no antibiotics, GMOs, or artificial inputs.

KEY QUOTES

“The problem with current animal protein supply isn’t a lack of innovation, it’s a lack of predictability. At Evergreen, stability is our product. We’ve built the company around radical consistency. Consistent quality, consistent costs, consistent taste and texture, and consistent execution, because that’s what turns skepticism into trust and opportunity.”

“Evergreen will supply fresh, 100% beef to meat producers and partner with them to reach consumers. We’re focused on strengthening how it’s supplied. By delivering predictable quality and pricing of real beef at scale, we help our partners build more resilient supply chains and keep beef affordable for consumers.”

Jim Miller, President and CEO, Evergreen Select

“In a year when capital has been highly selective, Evergreen stood out for its operational discipline, regulatory focus, and clear path into the market. By prioritizing partnership, the company has positioned cultivated beef as a practical way to strengthen the existing beef supply chain.”

Kevin Lo, Partner, S2G Investments

“We make beef for beef lovers and beef processors and we don’t compromise through plant based proteins. At Evergreen, we work with ranchers and meat producers to make delicious meat products, at the quality, quantity, and cost that customers expect.”
