Everis Medical, a medical device company focused on Otolaryngology, Head & Neck Surgery, and adjacent surgical specialties, announced the acquisition of Hood Laboratories, a privately held medical technology company based in Pembroke, Massachusetts. The acquisition expands Everis Medical’s portfolio of ENT, airway, and thoracic devices while strengthening its position in airway management.
Founded in 1962, Hood Laboratories is known for manufacturing products used in otolaryngology, laryngology, rhinology, thoracic surgery, interventional pulmonology, and speech therapy. The company is also recognized as the original manufacturer of T-Tubes used in the treatment of tracheal stenosis.
The acquisition represents Everis Medical’s fifth strategic acquisition since the company was founded in 2019. The transaction continues Everis Medical’s broader expansion strategy within the Otolaryngology/Head and Neck Surgery market.
Previous acquisitions completed by Everis Medical include the Cook Medical Otolaryngology/Head and Neck Surgery family of products, the Shaw Scalpel from Hemostatix, the STIC Intra-Compartmental Pressure Monitor used for compartment syndrome diagnosis, and the T/Pump Localized Temperature Therapy System focused on thermal pain management.
Everis Medical said the acquisition broadens its ability to provide clinicians with solutions spanning diagnosis, intervention, and post-operative care. Customers of both companies are expected to experience uninterrupted access to products, service, and support following the transaction.
