Everyset: $9 Million Secured For Background Performer Solution

By Amit Chowdhry • Oct 10, 2025

Everyset, a vertically integrated solution for managing background performers, has recently announced a $9 million capital raise to propel its growth and innovation initiatives. The latest funding round was led by Crosslink Capital and Haven Ventures.

This funding supports the launch of an advanced and integrated solution designed to deliver fast and accurate payroll management on set. And the funding enables Everyset to unveil the next generation of its payroll platform, known as Everyset’s Background Payroll.

The Background Payroll system represents a major breakthrough in payroll precision, offering on-demand capabilities that replace the outdated practice of vendor handoffs. This new system operates on a centralized platform that has received approval from SAG-AFTRA, which is critical for ensuring compliance with industry standards.

This tool automatically calculates overtime, penalties, and premiums earned by background actors on set, thereby streamlining the payroll process and significantly reducing the margin for error. By continuing to lead the digital transformation in Hollywood, Everyset is simplifying the payroll workflow from timecard to payment, ultimately enhancing the overall efficiency of film and television productions.

In the complex landscape of background performer management, Everyset is addressing the challenges faced by studios with a workforce that includes over 160,000 union members who collectively engage in approximately 3 million workdays annually. Given the constantly evolving union regulations, a major studio film or television production may issue a staggering 600 to 1,200 payment checks every week.

This rate translates to millions of dollars dispersed over the course of a single production. Historically, studio accountants bore the hefty burden of meticulously tracking each detail manually, which made the process cumbersome and prone to inaccuracies. However, with Everyset’s streamlined approach, studio accountants can now centralize time tracking, timecard approvals, and payroll processing within a single, comprehensive platform.

The launch of Everyset’s Background Payroll not only simplifies these processes but also provides studios with unprecedented visibility and control over their productions. This enhanced oversight is crucial in eliminating errors and alleviating the administrative burden associated with managing even the most complex shows. Accountants can efficiently review timecards, process payroll, and send invoices within one seamless session.

The system features real-time calculations for any additional fees or unexpected costs, ensuring transparency and accuracy. Furthermore, manual adjustments can be easily made directly within the platform, guaranteeing that all details are precise and up to date. All timecard and payroll data is consolidated into a single system, which optimizes speed, accountability, and reliability throughout the payroll process.

An essential feature of Everyset’s Background Payroll is its built-in compliance capabilities. The system automatically applies relevant state and federal tax regulations as well as union and guild rules, ensuring that all payroll processes meet legal and regulatory requirements. This level of compliance is supported by decades of expertise in entertainment payroll management, giving studios peace of mind in adherence to industry standards.

KEY QUOTES:

“The entertainment industry has always embraced innovation on screen, but the evolution has been slower behind the scenes, especially when it comes to production and payroll technology. With our proven solutions, we’re proud to offer a trusted partner to help some of the biggest studios in the world – including Netflix, CBS, Apple TV, Sony, and Amazon – usher in a new era of digitalization and cost efficiency for productions.”

Ebrahim Bhaiji, co-founder and CEO of Everyset

“For decades, production payroll has been a patchwork of paper slips, disconnected systems, and endless manual corrections. The industry has lagged in digital transformation, not because the need wasn’t there, but because the complexity felt insurmountable and nobody wanted to be the first to take a risk on new technology. Everyset’s mission is to close that gap, bringing production payroll into the digital era with workflows that eliminate friction and ensure your most valuable resource, your people, are paid on time.”
