Evvy has raised an oversubscribed $40 million Series B funding round led by Catalio Capital Management to expand its AI-powered precision diagnostics and care platform across women’s health, beginning with fertility. The financing includes new investors Catalio Capital Management, US Fertility Innovation Fund, Rethink Impact, Muse Capital and Alumni Ventures. Existing investors LabCorp Venture Fund, General Catalyst, Left Lane Capital, BBG Ventures, Amboy Street Ventures, Ingeborg and Foreground Capital also participated.
Founded in 2021 by Priyanka Jain, Laine Bruzek and Pita Navarro, Evvy has built a precision medicine platform centered on the vaginal microbiome and a proprietary machine learning engine called EvvyAI.
The company said its platform now serves more than 100,000 patients and 3,000 healthcare practitioners through at-home testing, personalized treatment and longitudinal biomarker tracking.
Each Evvy test uses CLIA-certified and New York State CLEP-approved metagenomic sequencing and is ordered and interpreted by licensed clinicians. Where appropriate, results can be paired with prescription treatment plans based on individual test findings and health histories.
Evvy has also assembled what it describes as the world’s largest proprietary clinical-grade dataset connecting the vaginal microbiome with women’s health outcomes.
The dataset feeds EvvyAI, which is designed to interpret large-scale biological information and support more precise diagnostic and care models.
Evvy said its research platform has contributed to 13 peer-reviewed publications and abstracts, helped identify novel bacterial vaginosis subtypes and uncovered hundreds of previously uncatalogued vaginal microbiome genomes.
The company’s focus reflects persistent diagnostic challenges in women’s health.
According to Evvy, many patients arrive with active vaginal symptoms or fertility challenges that conventional testing has not explained. The company cited misdiagnosis rates exceeding 50% and recurrence rates above 60% in traditional care settings for vaginal symptoms.
Evvy said licensed clinicians using its platform and EvvyAI have been able to provide a diagnosis to more than 90% of symptomatic patients and achieve an approximately 50% reduction in bacterial vaginosis recurrence through targeted treatment protocols. The company said these outcome improvements have been validated through peer-reviewed research.
The Series B will fund clinical validation of additional EvvyAI-powered diagnostic and care models across women’s health, with fertility serving as the initial area of expansion.
Evvy plans to pursue opportunities across conditions that it says represent more than $180 billion in underserved outcomes while broadening distribution through physicians and strategic partner channels.
The company’s longer-term thesis is that biological data from the vaginal microbiome could provide meaningful biomarkers across areas including fertility, preterm birth, gynecological cancers and other women’s health conditions.
The $40 million round gives Evvy additional capital to test that thesis clinically while expanding a dataset that grows with each new test performed.
KEY QUOTES:
“We were drawn to Evvy not only because of its growth, but because of the unique data and AI infrastructure the company is building, and the exceptional team executing on it. Its combination of proprietary data, clinical evidence, and a growing biomarker discovery engine creates an entirely new foundation for precision women’s healthcare. We believe Evvy is building the data platform that will define this category for decades to come.”
Jacob Vogelstein, Co-Founder And Managing Partner At Catalio Capital
“Women hear ‘unexplained’ constantly, unexplained infertility, unexplained recurrence, unexplained pain. It’s stated like a diagnosis, when it really just means medicine wasn’t built to measure female biology.”
“We set out to build the datasets and AI infrastructure that precision medicine in women’s health has been missing. The vaginal microbiome is a perfect example of this, a powerful, overlooked biomarker impacting fertility, preterm birth, gynecological cancers, and more. Evvy is building the evidence, infrastructure, and partnerships needed to make precision, data-driven care the standard for women’s health.”
