Expandi Acquires Kompass To Form AI-Powered Data And Media Leader

By Amit Chowdhry ● Mar 3, 2026

Expandi Limited has acquired 100% of Kompass in a deal that creates what the companies describe as the largest independent European provider of B2B data, technology, media and services. The transaction brings together more than 250 employees across eight countries and positions the combined group to deliver end-to-end solutions for companies seeking to promote and sell products and services to business customers worldwide.

Under the new structure, Raffaele Apostoliti will assume the CEO role at Kompass in addition to his existing position as CEO of Expandi Limited. The current CEO of Kompass will remain as Strategic Advisor to support continuity and integration. All existing Kompass shareholders will become shareholders of Expandi, signaling continued backing for the strategy of building a European champion in the B2B technology sector.

Kompass contributes a database covering more than 70 million companies globally, along with its AI-powered prospection suite Easybusiness. The company also brings a network of more than 20 international distributors and its flagship marketplace, Kompass.com, which is localized in 25 languages and attracts approximately 4 million monthly visitors. The platform enables advertisers to reach buyers in more than 50 countries.

Expandi adds market-leading B2B adtech and martech platforms recognized by global industry analysts, along with expertise in orchestrating data-driven, multi-channel campaigns for global and regional brands. Together, the companies aim to offer a unified platform that integrates proprietary data, media reach, and campaign execution capabilities.

The acquisition builds on a strategic alliance formed in May 2025. Since then, the companies have launched a unified data stack that combines Kompass firmographic and AI search-based intelligence with Expandi media signals. They have also integrated Kompass.com with B2BStars.com to create a seamless path from data discovery to campaign activation.

Joint product development has included a purchase intent offering that merges media-based behavioral data from Expandi with search-based intent data from Kompass, AI-driven activity classification for enhanced segmentation, and an AI product called KSales designed to help users explore markets, identify targets and generate insights using natural language.

The combined group plans to introduce additional AI-powered products and services in the coming months, expanding its capabilities from audience discovery and scoring to personalized activation and measurement.

Strategically, the companies say the transaction will give clients a single partner across EMEA, the Americas and APAC for data, strategy, media, technology and services. They also expect improved coverage of mid-market and long-tail accounts, stronger data sovereignty and compliance options for European clients, and faster go-to-market execution within a single integrated ecosystem.

But joining forces with Expandi is the natural next step in that journey. Our clients will keep the strengths they know us for—the depth and quality of our global database, an AI assisted query, and our strong local presence—and gain access to powerful new capabilities in digital media, intent data and AI-driven solutions. I am pleased to remain closely involved to support this new chapter and ensure continuity for our teams, partners and customers worldwide.”
