EY Brazil announced an agreement to acquire MB Agro, a Brazilian agribusiness consulting and market intelligence firm focused on economic analysis, strategic consulting, and sector forecasting services. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed. The acquisition remains subject to customary closing conditions and regulatory approvals.

MB Agro is known for advising financial institutions, agricultural producers, cooperatives, trading companies, and investors on economic scenarios, strategic reviews, risk analysis, investments, and M&A activity across Brazil’s agribusiness sector.

As part of the transaction, MB Agro leaders Alexandre Mendonça de Barros and José Carlos Hausknecht are expected to join EY Brazil as partners.

EY Brazil said the acquisition strengthens its agribusiness advisory capabilities by combining MB Agro’s sector intelligence and market analysis expertise with EY’s broader global consulting, tax, transaction, audit, and technology platform.

The firm also plans to incorporate MB Agro’s existing client portfolio, active consulting projects, subscription intelligence products, and sector analysis offerings into its operations following the transaction closing.

According to EY Brazil, the integration enhances its ability to support strategic decision-making across the agribusiness value chain amid growing industry complexity driven by climate, costs, geopolitics, demand trends, and investment activity.

EY Brazil currently operates an Agribusiness Center of Excellence in Ribeirão Preto focused on technology, innovation, research collaboration, and sector development initiatives.
