F.L.Putnam Investment Management Company has secured a strategic minority investment from Bixby Wealth Solutions to support advisor recruitment, enhance its client experience and accelerate its expansion across the United States. Financial terms were not disclosed, and F.L.Putnam will continue operating independently under its existing leadership team led by CEO Tom Manning.
F.L.Putnam managed more than $11 billion in client assets as of July 1, 2026. The independent registered investment advisor has more than 165 employees across 14 U.S. offices and serves individuals, single- and multi-family offices, endowments, foundations and other wealth managers through investment management, financial planning, trust and family office services.
Employees will continue to own a significant minority equity interest in F.L.Putnam following the transaction. Maintaining internal ownership can help align employees with the firm’s long-term performance while supporting succession planning and providing future generations of advisors with opportunities to participate in the business.
The new capital will give F.L.Putnam additional flexibility to invest in personnel, technology and advisory capabilities while selectively entering new markets. The firm also plans to recruit advisors whose practices and service models align with its approach to personalized wealth management.
Bixby Wealth Solutions is an arm of Moontower Group and specializes in minority investments in independent wealth management firms and comparable professional services businesses. The platform is backed by Carlyle’s Global Credit business and provides scalable capital intended to support growth without requiring partner firms to surrender operational control.
The investment follows F.L.Putnam’s four-year partnership with Emigrant Partners. The transaction represents the firm’s next ownership phase while preserving its existing brand, leadership and independent operating model.
